Dan Allen is the Vice President of Business & Agriculture at ATB Financial. He leads a team of almost 400 employees committed to meeting the financial needs of small to medium size businesses and farming enterprises across Alberta. Prior to joining ATB in 2010, Dan spent 31 years with CIBC in various leadership roles, including Retail Banking, Private Banking, Small Business Banking, and numerous Regional Office roles.
Dan was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University and then moved to Calgary in 1979 to pursue a career in Banking. An Albertan for 36 years, Dan has lived in Calgary, Drumheller and St. Albert.
Dan first became involved with United Way of Calgary & Area in 1991, spending 10 months supporting the Campaign that year. After that he worked with United Way in various volunteer capacities until 2012, when he joined the Campaign Cabinet as the Co-chair of the General Business Division. Dan spent 2 years on the Campaign Cabinet and “retired” in 2014.
Dan joined the Board of Directors in 2015. Dan is a past member of the Board Communications Committee and currently Vice Chair of the Board Investment Committee and a member of the Community Impact and the Finance & Audit Committee.
Away from the office, Dan enjoys travelling, reading, and playing golf. But most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife Gloria and seeing all of the latest blockbuster movies with his three daughters.
