Calgary Learning Village Collaborative Report to the Community - page 19

The Riddell family legacy lives on
In 2005,
Clay and Vi Riddell made a gift of $4.5 million to the United Way
of Calgary and Area to support children and families in Greater Forest Lawn
through The Calgary Learning Village Collaborative. In 2011, Mike and Sue
Rose continued the family legacy of supporting this important work by also
making a significant gift.
Through the family’s generosity, The Learning Village, as a unique school-
based model, has helped to create additional neighbourhood support and
bring recreation and education programs into the heart of the Greater Forest
Lawn area community.
Today, the Riddell family continues to be champions of our work and with
the added involvement of other generous Calgary families and organizations,
we will continue to enhance connections, opportunities and learning among
families and students in this neighbourhood.
Thank you Riddell family!
