Thank You Calgary!
Thank you to all the individuals, corporations and community groups who donated to our Emergency Community Support Fund in the aftermath of the flood. Over $600,000 has been donated to this fund, which is actively supporting Calgary’s community network of care.
Online donors contributed over $100,000 to our emergency fund. This has more than doubled since our initial July 10 deadline!
Over $500,000 in corporate donations have also come in from:
- Bank of America Merryll Lynch
- Black Diamond Group
- Canadian Oil Sands
- Devon Canada
- Enerplus Corporation
- Imperial Oil Foundation
- Red Dog Systems Inc.
- Shell Canada
- Suncor Energy
Our generous community donors have also made generous contributions to our fund:
- Cliff Bungalow-Mission Communities Association
- Muslim Families Network Society
All donations made to our Emergency Community Support Fund, as well as the $1 million United Way had in its emergency fund before the flood, are actively assisting United Way’s agencies as they respond to community needs caused by the flood. As of July 31, United Way has funded 34 applications by our agencies as they respond to the crisis. For a complete listing of what is being funded, please visit our flood funds update page.
Thank you again to all the generous individuals, companies and community groups who are helping us support families, children and vulnerable people as we move into the next phase of recovery. Thank you YYC!
