Calgary storyteller Dave Kelly and ENMAX President & CEO Gianna Manes were unmasked as the new Co-Chairs for United Way’s 2014 campaign!
In this volunteer leadership role, they will lead United Way in raising funds for poverty, kids and communities in the Calgary area. They were passed the torch from outgoing Co-Chairs Police Chief Rick Hanson and TransAlta President & CEO Dawn Farrell, who spearheaded a record $55.7 million campaign in 2013.
The announcement was made at United Way’s annual Spirits of Gold Awards, which recognized those who made 2013 a banner year.
Kelly has over 20 years of experience as a television host, actor, interviewer and teacher. He’s worked closely with United Way through the years, hosting several large events — including the Spirits of Gold Awards for the past decade.
Manes joined ENMAX Corporation as President & CEO in 2012. She has more than 25 years of energy industry experience in Canada and the U.S., and has actively supported United Ways in various cities throughout her career. Her employees are enthusiastic supporters of United Way, with ENMAX raising nearly $2 million since 2005.
We are thrilled to have them both onboard for our 2014 campaign!
