2015 tax clinics now available

Each year, United Way partners with the Calgary Public Library to offer tax clinics for low-income Calgarians. These free, drop-in clinics are with trained volunteers who walk participants through the process.

This pays off in many ways: low-income Calgarians are often eligible for tax rebates and by filing taxes, become eligible for other government benefits and supports, such as Calgary's low-income transit pass.

You are eligible for free tax clinics at the library if:

  • You are a single person with an income of $30,000 or less
  • You are a couple with an income of $45,000 or less
  • You are one adult with one child and an income of $35,000 or less
  • For each additional dependent, add $2,500 to your income for the sake of determining eligibility
  • Your income gained through interest is less than $1,000
