The Calgary community has once again rallied in support of one another and making our city a great place for all.
The 2016 campaign was made possible by the collective efforts of 984 workplace campaigns, more than 12,000 volunteers, and 34,623 individual donors. Together, Calgarians raised $55.7M, which will be invested into the community in local prograns and collaborations that drive social change.
"I am humbled by the generosity of our city and appreciative of every single person's support," said Karen Young, President and CEO of United Way of Calgary and Area. "The steadfast commitment through good times and bad demonstrates the true spirit of Calgarians."
Additionally, long-time volunteers and supporters Michael and Heather Culbert provided a one-time special gift of $2 million to United Way's Tomorrow Fund. The Tomorrow Fund is United Way's long-term investment fund for Calgary, and is a way for donors to support Calgary through a gift today, or one that is made through their estate plans.
Thank you to everyone in our city for making this possible and for working to make our city great for everyone!
