Community rallies to raise $52.6M!

Thank you to over 35,000 individual donors who collectively donated $52.6M to improve lives in our community!

Despite the economy’s slow recovery, our 2017 campaign boasted 842 workplace campaigns, more than 12,000 volunteers, and more than 35,000 individual donors. In total, the campaign raised $52.6 million.

In addition to the $52.6 million, a one-time $2 million special gift was received from the Mann Family to the Tomorrow Fund, United Way’s legacy fund and planned giving program. Garth and Karen Mann’s donation will strengthen the Calgary community for years to come.

The 2017 achievement announcement was made at United Way's annual Spirits of Gold awards, where over 800 people came together.

“We celebrated the Calgarians who put their generosity into action and proved, through their unwavering commitment to our city, that we are all Calgary,” said Karen Young, President and CEO of United Way of Calgary and Area. “Together, we are building a resilient and caring community where everyone thrives.”

Thank you Calgary!
