WHAT WE DO

One of the most exciting projects in the NE right now is the construction of the Genesis Centre of Community Wellness, scheduled to open in 2011.  The Genesis Centre is a $120 million recreational complex containing a YMCA, Calgary Public Library, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, a community and human services centre, and community spaces.

United Way was instrumental in the creation of the Community and Human Services Centre, and is committed to providing ongoing support for it. To ensure plans for the centre meet the needs of residents, United Way has been working closely with agencies and community residents. Initial services will include employment programs, immigrant services, programs for children and teens, and much more.
