WHAT WE DO
WHAT WE DO

Funders for Youth was formed in 2006 by representatives from The City of Calgary – Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Calgary and Area Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA), Burns Memorial Fund, Norlien Foundation, Education Matters and United Way to increase communication and collaboration. The purpose of Funders for Youth is to share information and strategically align resources to achieve greater long-term success for vulnerable youth.
In 2008, Funders for Youth determined that improving Calgary’s high school completion rates was an issue of common interest and co-hosted an engagement event, Kafe 12, to motivate community action. Kafe 12 has now become a community initiative focused on increasing high school completion rates through enhanced partnerships, public awareness and potential policy change.
