Chief Financial Officer
Malcolm Gowie has over 25 years of senior financial and business experience, covering manufacturing and process industries, engineering, wholesale, retail, laboratory medicine and non-profits. This experience includes working with organizations in periods of rapid growth, management buyout, mergers and turnaround environments. These organizations ranged from billion dollar enterprises to family owned entities; all provided the base for strong entrepreneurial engagement, a key driver for Malcolm.
Since 2004, Malcolm has been CFO with United Way and leads the Corporate Service function which is responsible for finance, human resources, technology, donation processing and facilities used by United Way. Malcolm is also responsible for risk management and statutory compliance for the organization, including privacy. During his time with us, Malcolm has seen the organization almost double in size and consistently be recognized as a trusted steward of donor funds.
Malcolm is a Chartered Accountant, holds two Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree in leadership and training.
