Supporting Non Profits Capacity Building

United Way of Calgary and Area believes that investing in strong organizations and communities is one way we can make Calgary a great city for everyone.

Capacity building for organizational effectiveness means supporting organizations to build and maintain the skills, infrastructure and resources needed to realize their mission.

Areas of Capacity Building include: governance, business strategizing, human resources/volunteer management, leadership, evaluation, finance, and program design. United Way is currently focusing on program design, governance and evaluation. Research states that successful non profit organizations have capacity in these three areas.

By supporting Capacity Building, United Way is creating change in our community by building and maintaining organizational effectiveness in the non-profit sector.
