The Benefits Navigator is a simple on-line tool that helps Calgarians identify the government benefits and supports for which they might be eligible. The Navigator puts additional dollars in the pockets of low-income families.
In the spring of 2009, United Way completed an intensive community scan to better understand the impact of the recession on Calgarians and the agencies that serve them. In June 2009, the Resiliency Report was released, revealing the severity of that impact and United Way’s responses to emerging needs in the community.

The Hope in Hard Times guides were developed to help you successfully navigate these changing economic times. Getting the services you need, getting on top of your finances and knowing your rights can help you feel more in control when everything feels like it is changing. Although you may feel alone, remember that the recession has impacted many of us. Please reach out for help if you need it.

During the summer of 2009, United Way held focus groups to learn more about the effects of the recession on vulnerable youth and the agencies that support them. Stalled Transitions shares what we learned.
Managing Your Money in Hard Times was developed to help you through challenging economic times, offering online resources that will allow you to make the best of the money you have. It is best used as a companion piece to Hope in Hard Times. Managing Your Money in Hard Times was created because United Way believes that helping front-line staff and the public recognize what they can and cannot control in the midst of this recession may reduce stress and anxiety.
