Sue Riddell Rose is President and Chief Executive Officer of Perpetual Energy Inc. She graduated from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering (1986), began her career as a geological engineer with Shell Canada and has close to 30 years of experience in the Canadian oil and natural gas industry. From 1990 until 2002 Sue was employed by Paramount Resources Ltd. in various capacities, culminating in the position of Corporate Operating Officer and assumed the role of President of Paramount Energy Trust in 2002. She has been a director of Paramount Resources Ltd. since 2000. Sue is also a director of Newalta Inc. and a member of the Board of Trustees of Brookfield Canada Office Properties.
Sue is a member of the Association of Professional Engineering, Geologist and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is a Governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.
She is actively involved with a number of not-for-profit organizations including United Way of Calgary, UNICEF Canada, Queen’s University, Fulbright Canada and is currently a member of the Calgary Bid Exploration Committee. In 2014, Sue was presented with the Doc Seaman Individual Philanthropist award by the Association of Fundraising Processionals.
Ms. Riddell Rose co-chaired the United Way of Calgary and Area’s 2011 fundraising campaign, raising in excess of $54 million. She has chaired the United Way Community Impact Committee and is past Chair of the Board and Chair of United Way’s Board Governance & Development and Strategic Planning Committees. She is also a past member of the United Way Board Finance & Audit Committee and represented the Board on the 2016 Campaign Cabinet.
