Heather Culbert is the former Senior VP of Corporate Services with Enerplus Corporation, a mid-sized oil and gas company. During her 27 years in the oil and gas sector, Ms. Culbert has held senior management positions at Cody Energy, Suncor and for clients of her own IT Management Consulting firm. During Heather’s tenure at Enerplus, the fund’s growth increased in market cap by $7.5 billion and she developed significant expertise in all aspects of the oil and gas business, including a specialization in merger and acquisition integration, strategic planning and corporate performance.
Heather is a graduate of the Queens University Executive Program and a Computer Technology grad of SAIT. In 2003 she was recognized as SAIT’s Distinguished Alumnus. Heather was recently awarded a SAIT Honorary Bachelor of Science Degree and made history in June 2016, as the first graduate and Distinguished Alumna to be appointed as Chair of the institution’s Board of Governors.
Ms. Culbert serves as Vice Chair of Export Development Canada and as a Board Member of Whitecap Energy. Ms. Culbert has been recognized for her leadership and community service and has received numerous awards including; the BMO Celebrating Women 2016 Community and Charitable Giving award, the Doc Seaman Generosity of Spirit Award as an individual philanthropist in 2013, and the Alberta Centennial Medal for Community Service in 2005.
Heather has been an active volunteer and philanthropist for many years and has served as Board Chair of United Way of Calgary and Area, Chair of UWCA’s Board Governance & Development and Strategic Planning Committees, a trustee of the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Board Chair of the Alliance to End Violence, and Campaign Chair of the SAIT Promising Futures Campaign.
Heather is a member of the United Way World Leadership Council and serves as an ex-officio Board member, as liaison with UW Worldwide (UWW). She and her husband, Mike, are members of the Million Dollar Roundtable of the United Way of Calgary and Area.
