Nathan stands on a bridge in Bowness in northwest Calgary.

Accessing support can change everything.

Growing up living in poverty, Nathan and his family faced many tough decisions that so many Calgarians face on a daily basis. Sometimes their power would go out; they received eviction notices.

They weren't aware of so many of the programs that were available - and worried about the stigma of asking for help.

Nathan is Calgary.

With the support of United Way, Nathan and his family were able to access programs and initiatives that helped move them from poverty to possibility.

Calgary is a community of people. Meet a few of the 177,000 people like Nathan who were helped in 2015.
