Jason comes to the United Way as a Managing Principal of Navigator, leading the firm’s Western Canadian operations from Calgary.He specializes in strategic communications, media relations, issues management and government relations.
Jason works with organizations to enhance their public profiles through communication, stakeholder consultation and government advocacy strategies. He has led successful project campaigns for clients in the areas of telecommunications, technology, health, agriculture and finance. Jason also possesses significant expertise in the energy sector.
Jason has also worked extensively with provincial and federal governments, advising premiers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as cabinet ministers and political leaders across the country.
As a community leader and passionate volunteer, Jason is proud to work alongside United Way Calgary’s dedicated staff, partners and donors, towards improving lives and communities through lasting social change.
Keen on action and rarely standing still for long, Jason believes it’s important for people to be involved and to give back.
Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Jason was educated in both English and French, in the fields of political science, business and law. He serves as a board member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and is involved with the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Jason joined the United Way of Calgary and Area Board of Directors in 2012 and is currently Board Chair and represents the Board on the 2018 Campaign Cabinet.
Jason is also past Vice Chair of the UWCA Board Public Policy Committee and is currently Vice Chair of the UWCA Board Governance and Development and Strategic Planning Committees and a member of the Finance & Audit and Community Impact Committees.
Jason lives in Calgary with his wife Stacey, and his two children.
