Shaw Charity Classic helps kids return to school

shaw-charity-classicCalgary youth are winners after the inaugural Shaw Charity Classic raised a record-breaking $2.27 million for local charities, including United Way’s “All In” for Youth initiative.

This is the largest charitable contribution made by a PGA TOUR Champions Tour event. The tournament was made possible thanks to Shaw and a Patron Group chaired by long time United Way supporter, Clay Riddell, who were responsible for bringing the Shaw Charity Classic to Calgary.

United Way President and CEO Lucy Miller thanked Shaw and the Patron Group for supporting “All In” for Youth, which aims to cut the dropout rate in half in five years.

“This generous donation will help us get there by giving youth the supports they need to complete high school,” says Miller.
